Senior Riley Hough of Hartland High in Michigan, a Michigan State commit, finished fifth in the boys 5-kilometer gold race at the RunningLane Cross Country Championships at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala. Hough clocked 14:10.56, the second-fastest 5-kilometer cross country performance by a Michigan male athlete, trailing only the 14:10.4 achieved in 2000 by former Rockford High star Dathan Ritzenhein, and No. 6 in prep history. Hough, who also won the Eastbay Midwest Regional title Nov. 27, will compete again Dec. 11 at the Eastbay National Championships at Balboa Park's Morley Field in San Diego, Calif.
